Meet our new Performance Management & Innovation Specialist

The Office of Accountability, Performance & Innovation would like you to join us in celebrating a new role on our team and welcoming our new Performance Management Specialist. Introducing Mojdeh Mahdavi who will help the city to leverage data, process improvement, and innovation efforts and translate them into a sustainable performance management strategy that will allow us to better track our operations and put in place improvement plans over time. As our Performance Management Fellow Mojdeh will work with City Departments to establish metrics that will be used to measure their operational performance, interview Department employees to understand their processes and data capture methods, and communicate performance insights through data visualizations and dashboards and will manage a city-wide, cross-departmental performance management program.

She has gained extensive knowledge in civic engagement and the application of digital technologies to find incremental and piece-meal solutions to address urban problems in the process of urban development.

Mojdeh first came to Syracuse in 2019, as a Bloomberg fellow in City Leadership Initiative, where she used this practical knowledge in community engagement and ICT engendered opportunities in helping Syracuse’s Office of Accountability, Performance, and Innovation to devise a socially conscious, inclusive, and economically responsive smart city plan. Mojdeh is excited to return to Syracuse and start her new position with the city. She looks forward to working with API and seeing what the next year will hold.
